Background

I wrote spark while unsure of how someone I had feelings for felt about me.

There was a magnetism I felt, a “spark,” but I knew the spark would be short-lived because he, for whatever reason, didn’t want to move us forward.

Stagnant, I waited for someone to come into our lives, in his life or mine, who would cause one of us to leave our spark-filled fling for something more stable.

Described by a fellow poet as “a lovely poem of the dance between being in the present and the insecurities of the mind,” this is “Spark.”
